I am a seasoned Data Science Lead with about 10 years of experience in diverse domains, specializing in solving complex problems through agile analytical pipelines employing ML and statistical techniques. Proven track record in leading cross-functional collaboration to drive both revenue growth and operational efficiency. I love experimenting with new technologies, coding, exploring new machine learning techniques, and have a passion for solving challenging problems with AI.

I have led several initiatives to drive transformation and adoption of new technologies within the teams that I have been a part of. I also like to teach and have mentored several freshers across organizations in several technologies. I also occasionally deliver lectures as a visiting faculty as well.

Professional Experience

Senior Data Scientist

  • Currently leading the assortment optimization team for stores and E-Comm for multiple SEA markets, driving >75% adoption having an estimated impact of $1Mn for the merchants.
  • Spearheaded customer vertical using neural network models for CRM targeting, generating >$2.4Mn incremental revenue and ~2x ROI.
    • Have developed ANN models for identifying customers to be targeted for CRM communications, leading to ~2x ROI and >50% increase in response rates.
    • Drove the initiative to improve post-sales customer experience on our digital platform leading to increase in automated one touch resolution of >30% tickets.
    • Developed a product recommendation framework for suggesting complementary products to shoppers using product embeddings leading to an increase in visits by 5%.
    • Built the customer profiles for E-Commerce customers and segmented them in order to improve the effectiveness of CRM communications.

Jan 2022 - Present

Decision Scientist, Data Science

  • Part of a 6-member team handling data science projects for GoFood (Indonesia’s largest food delivery platform) – Ordering and Reliability team
    • Drove the effort to improve the accuracy of predicted delivery time shown to customers by incorporating real-time features, reducing customer anxiety metrics such as chat communications by 8% and complaint tickets by ~5%.
    • Led the exercise for improving food preparation time through identification of actionable drivers and benchmarking food preparation times at cuisine level – Reduced Avg. ETA of ~5% orders by 2+ minutes.
      • Drove the exercise to display real-time Driver ETA to restaurants on GoBiz leading to a reduced driver waiting by >2 minutes in 7% of orders.
      • Designed the Merchant Incentive Program in collaboration with the merchant team to improve merchant behaviour in terms of marking food ready and reducing driver waiting time.
    • Defined rules for identifying out of stock items at restaurants and set up the data pipelines which update item availability at an hourly level leading to a 2% improvement in booking completion rate.
    • Conducted virtual training in Python for a month-long intern program for 2 batches of undergrad students based in Indonesia.

Lead Analyst

  • Led a 3-member team to automate A/B Testing for price changes
    • Control Selection based on different statistical factors which included building data pipelines from various data sources.
    • Comprehensive measurement of the Price Tests using Hold-out and Quasi Control Approach and final reporting in Power BI.
  • Led a 2-member team to build a Competitor Density Scoring Model
    • Developed a comprehensive scoring model using various statistical techniques using geography and financial-based metrics.
    • The model is currently in use across all functions as a basis to measure competitive aptitude for a product group at any location.
  • Developed the complete Market mix model for 2 banners with a 2-member team
    • Developed the market mix model in python to estimate sales contributions of different media channels.
    • Further developed a spend optimization simulator in R Shiny to dynamically generate different marketing budget scenarios.
    • The project was voted as the project of the year by the entire India team.
  • Developed a strategy to identify and target cherry-picking customers
    • Developed a model to target customers who purchased only specific categories, with related offers, to drive sales of attached products and drive customers to visit our store.

    • Developed scorecards and reports to analyze the performance of web content across >80% of the support domains.
    • Identified pages that required improvement leading to an increase in support call deflection and first call resolution rates.
    • Improved legacy systems and reduced processing time by 67% through performance tuning of ETL jobs.
  • Led a 4-member team in developing multiple reporting and automation systems for the pricing analytics of a US pharmaceutical leader
    • Designed an automated SAS process reducing the turn-around time on validating rebate claims from 2 days to under 10 minutes
    • Developed QlikView reports identifying fraudulent contracts based on anomalies in purchasing patterns saving $300k/month for one geography

  • Represent New Ashoka Hockey Club at Karnataka State ‘C’ division Hockey tournaments and have also represented BITS-Pilani at the All-India West Zone Tournament in 2012.
  • I have captained the winning football team at the Lowe’s Internal Tournament in 2019 and love playing football.
  • Developed an image classification algorithm in MATLAB for identifying the most efficient pipe network grid for rainwater harvesting with the potential of providing potable water to 400 people.

  • Co-authored a research paper on the use of bottom ash in concrete and patent-pending for a variant of porous concrete which can be used in designing sustainable rainwater harvesting networks.
